How it works

  1. Install BlackHole, a free, open-source virtual audio driver. Radio Mask's Call Setup walks you through it.
  2. Pick a voice in Radio Mask and press ON AIR.
  3. In your call app, choose "BlackHole 2ch" as the microphone. Everyone on the call now hears your changed voice.

FAQ

Which apps does it work with?

Zoom, Google Meet, Discord and other apps that let you choose a microphone. FaceTime and apps without a microphone setting can use it through the system microphone, and Radio Mask can set that up for you. It doesn't work with iPhone calls placed from your Mac or with WhatsApp.

Why do people still hear my normal voice?

Your call app's noise cancellation is probably undoing the effect. Turn it off; in Zoom, turn on "Original sound".

What is BlackHole, and is it safe?

BlackHole is a free, open-source virtual audio driver by Existential Audio. It isn't part of Radio Mask, and Radio Mask's Call Setup helps you install and check it.

Can I hear myself?

Yes. Turn on "Hear myself" to listen through your headphones.

Is my voice recorded or uploaded?

Your voice is changed right on your Mac and is never uploaded. Recordings you make with REC stay on your Mac.
